Culture eats Strategy.
As we build institutions we are developing culture.
Here are some descriptors of the culture we hope will pervade all our institutions.
Strength in Numbers
We believe success is dependent on superb team work, not a single superstar. Everyone on the team is of equal value. The doctor and the cook have different roles but have equal value. Without a doctor, patient care is hampered, but without a cook, patients wouldn’t come at all. No one person is the superstar. We depend on every member of the team to succeed.
No Celebventists
We work not to make a name for ourselves but to make a name for our team, our institution, our church and our Lord. We will not suck up to you nor flatter you just because you are a pastor, leader, church administrator, or have a bunch of D’s behind your name. We do not promote a celebrity culture within our institutions.
Failure = Learn
Fear of failure doesn’t prevent us from trying new things. We avoid getting stuck doing the same things over and over because we are afraid a new idea will fail. We hate the inertia that comes from those who refuse to change because they just like the way things are. If an idea fails, we try something else.
We Sacrifice
Everything we’ve built so far was built on the sacrifice of our team. Whether it’s working for no pay, not getting reimbursed, mothers spending time away from their children or sleeping on the floor, sacrifice built all our institutions. To fulfill our vision, sacrifice will be a necessity. It is our joy to sacrifice for our Lord and for each other.
